Pentre Grammar School Treherbert
« on: Thursday 25 July 13 15:43 BST (UK) »
Hello -I'm doing some research for an elderly relative. he would like to find out what happened to his inspirational English teacher at Pentre Grammar -Taliesin Jones, born abt 1913, we think in Porth.
He taught English at Pentre until the outbreak of war in 1940 -41 and then joined the RAF. He married in Canada at an airforce base in Ontario, possibly Guelph, as his wife lived near there. My relative had heard that he was killed in a car crash over there but no one is able to confirm this and I can find no record of it. Does anyone remember him or know what became of him?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hello Pick,

Why don't you post your query on the Canada Board too, - someone on there might be able to check from that side for a possible death entry.

I think that the other Jones's are just a coincidence!  ;D

He's in the 'travelling alone' column on the Ship's Register. He gives his home address as: 6 Davies Road, Porth, Glamorgan. Intended place of residence: Canada.

You could also request a Newspaper Look-up for him on the Canada Board on here, because he might feature somewhere, - worth a try anyway!

Best of Luck,
Romilly.
