in 1841 Christopher aged 30 is with Elizabeth 25 and Elizabeth 2 in York Road. Lambeth. Christopher is an India Rubber Manufacturer. The younger Elizabeth was born in county the other two not.

In the same household are Elizabeth Thurston 50, Sarah Dixon aged 15 and Jane Adams 15.  The latter is a Female Servant and was born in County.  The other 2 were not.

Ref is HO107 1061/2 f 23.

The address ties up with the addresses of the burials provided by Spidermonkey. I think there is a burial for another child too but will check.

Familysearch has a christening for Jane Cliff Fuller on 30 Jun 1805 at St Leonard, COlchester.  Parents John and Sarah Fuller.

The 1851 census has a Jane C Nickles bn Colchester c. 1811 a visitor at the Demmon household in Colchester (claiming to be married)

Therefore, perhas CFN married Jane Cliff Fuller but for whatever reason they split and CFN took up with Sophia, not getting married because CFN was still married to JCF.  They have a couple of children who died, and then Sophia dies too in 1834.  Between 1834 and 1841, CFN meets Elizabeth Dixon (?) and has several children with her, including:
Elizabeth (on 1841, bn c. 1839)
Charles (on 1851, bn c, 1842)
Henry (on 1851, bn c. 1844)

Just idle curiosity more than anything else, but on the 1871 census Edward Nickels says that he is a naturalised British Subject.  Would he have needed to naturalise if he had two British parents?  (CFN and Jane Fuller)

Caroline's surname is Pahl, not Fall.  This links up with the use of Pahl as a middle name for Earnest Pahl Nickels who was one of the executors of Matilda Nickels (wife of Edouard) will.

1851:
Christopher Nickels  Head  45  bn Essex Colchester
Elizabeth Nickels  Wife  35  bn Hampshire?
Charles  Son 9  Bn Surrey Lambeth
Henry  Son 7  bn Surrey Lambeth
Sophia Farmer?  Sister  48  Wife of wine merchant  bn Essex ?
Caroline Fall niece  15 bn Surrey Lambeth

POBs are best guesses!

Caroline Sophia Pahl was baptised Nov 8th 1835 at Lambeth (St John the Evangelist) to Charles and Mary Sophia Pahl of Guildford Street

Charles Alexander Pahl married Mary Sophia Robinson in 1834 at St JOhn the Evangelist, LAmbeth. I haven't yet worked out how that makes Caroline a niece to CFN but the families definitely seem to be linked - looking at baptism entries for 1853 at Lower Marsh All Saints, Lambeth, there are 3 late baptisms.  One is Josephine Pahl, the other two are Elizabeth Nickels and Henry John Nickels.  The NIckels children belong to Henry Waterloo and Sarah Nickels and he is shown as being resident foreman at the Gutta PErcha works.  Pahl is shown as being the manager at the India Rubber Factory.  He is deceased, but all addresses are given as 17 York Street

Thats interesting - so he does link with the family.

In 1861 Edward and Matilda and 2 yr old Christine (bn Dalston) are at
RG 9 161 112 20
(Indexed Nechels on Ancestrry)

i cant see a marriage yet, marriage cert would confirm his fathers name.
