Korean War 60 years

   Today marks the 60th anniversary of the signing of the final armistice that ended the Korean war.
 Almost a forgotten war by many other than those who served and witnessed it first hand.
 Over 1100 members of the British forces died during the 3 years of the War many were at that time on National Service.
   
  For.   Lance Corporal Norman S Smith age 20
             The Royal Norfolk Regiment
             Died 3 March 1952
            Buried Pusan United Nations Memorial Cemetery .

I remember the Korean War too, especially as a local man Bill Speakman, got the Victoria Cross (VC) and we (all the schoolchildren) lined the streets waving our flags to welcome him home.
