1841 Census next to the Musselwhites is a Webb Family with a Son John age 15 from memory. Head of Household occp is a Thatcher. Henry may have learnt his trade from him.

Added -the Goulds from down there are starting to ring bells - I'm sure Mr G( paternal ancestors mostly from Wiltshire) had some Goulds from that area south of Salisbury.  I've not done anything on his side for yonks so will have to dig deep in my files!

I don't think that there was any suggestion that John was Charles' father, he's down as housekeeper's son in subsequent census.

Gadget is correct I wasnt saying John Webb age 15 in 1841 was the Father of Charles c 1840

It seems to me that Charlotte was lying when saying she was a Widow.

I cant find any Musselwhite, even a George, marrying a Charlotte pre 1841 on Familysearch or FreeBMD.

looks like all her Children were illegitimate;

George may have been the Father of Charles c 1840 but  I cant find a christening for him.
He may be under Charlottes birth surname.
