I noticed on the list yesterday a request regarding the surname DEERING by "etaylor" this person mentioned Edward DEERING (B) 1879 London and Charles DEERING (B) 1877 London
My friend has this surname on her family tree, I mentioned this to her and she has asked if "etaylor" who contact me please so I can ask questions about this family. Thank you.

Alternative spelling to DERING AND DEARING spelling was not really established until about 1900. My Derings originate in Kent. G-G-Grandfather George Witherden Dering 1847 came from Woolwich, his Grandfather Robert was at Surrenden nr. Pluckley. George & many of his descendents were associated with dockyards.
