Hi Looby
I'm always interested in the war dead.
I have a few on my tree who are either wrongly transcribed on cwgc or have little, no, or wrong  information attached.
I have an Andrew Clark, son of Mr & Mrs James Clark, pitglassie cottages, Mortlach, Dufftown, Banffshire. Husband of Mary Ann Boyd Clark.
Andrew Clark was 19, unmarried, and Mary Ann Boyd Mckimmie was his stepmother, his fathers second wife.
My grandfather, John Calder Clark, only has his name, number, and date of death.

Also " Naisie's" mother died 12 Aug 1948.

Mary Rennie ( formerly Meikle), widow of John Meikle, Private Blackwatch.
1 Cornwall Street, Glasgow.
Parents John Conquer (deceased) and Ann Conquer, subsequently Fraser, m.s. Brown.
Annie Hunter, daughter, present.
No mention of James Rennie.

There is a marriage for Annie Elliot Rennie to John Hunter 25 Feb 1920, Plantation, Glasgow. Parents names are correct.

Steven

I grew up hearing stories of my grandfather who was in the RAF and died in WW2 when my dad was only 2 years old.
The last of them died abt 25 years ago and I wish I had been interested in family history then.
I know there was photos and medals but I don't know what happened to them.

I can only hope my son doesn't leave it as long, although he has a head start, most of the work is already done.

Steven

I know what you mean Steven, My pet hate is old family photos and you don't know who is in all the pictures, as no one is left to fill in the gaps, The Neilston war memorial project has been fantastic and horrific leaning how the lads served and where and how they died.
Cheers Matt

If you can provide documentary evidence of a record on CWGC site being incorrect they will change it, I've had a record changed and the inscription on the Menin Gate changed.
