Maud Shepherd and Charles William Potts

Can anyone help  with information on Maud  Shepherd  & husband  Charles William Potts  1911 census  they are living at 4 Chapel Walk  Mexborough   Maud gives birth at  Wath upon Dearne  1888      Charles William Potts    gives birth 1884  Islington  Staffordshire  I cannot find  births for either of them and cannot find them in 1901  census  I would appreciate any help  to locate them .

Thank you for the birth information  I have just received  birth certificate for Arthur Vernon  Potts  b1918  Father Charles William  Potts  mother Maud Shepherd  Arthur has older brother  Clifford H Potts  b 1914    two more siblings born 1920 & 1922  Thanks

Lostris's info on marriage names is consistent with 1911 census entry of them being married for under a year.
In order to try to get to the bottom of the 'Shepherd/West' mystery, you will need to buy the marriage certificate and try and establish her parentage.

The thought did occur to me that the S in her middle name was Shepherd. She may be illegitimate, and have been listed under either name in previous censuses.

Just to throw another little interesting piece of info into the mix, there's a Maud West aged 12 born Mexborough, niece in Arthur Lidster's household in Wath. (1901)  RG13/4400 folio 83 p5

This time as a Visitor in James Lidsters household (prob Arthur's Dad ?)
