McHugh Family
« on: Friday 09 August 13 22:05 BST (UK) »
I recently became aware that I have family that operate the J. McHugh Pub in Glenfarne, Co.Leitrim.  I believe the name is Ben McHugh.  I would love more information if possible.  The McHugh's are from my father's side, with my grandfather Bartholowmew McHugh immigrating to the U.S. in the Boston area.....many years ago.  I also have family that are from Sligo...the surname is Hart, which are on my mother's side.  Any info or contacts would be greatly appreciated.

Looking for any info on my g grandfather John McHugh b 1836 in Glebe townland, Killasnet parish, near Manorhamilton. He emigrated to USA in 1852.  I believe he had brothers Edward b. 1840 (married Bridget Keaveny from Gurteen, had 6 children, stayed in Glebe until death in 1915) and Patrick b. 1845 who also went to US in 1860's.   Parents were Edward McHugh b. 1799 and Ellen Tucker.  Looking for any information on this family and its decendents.

Hi Ladyhawk,
Thanks for putting that up :)
There are a lot of McHughs in the USA and Ireland. That particular group emigrated to Woburn Massachusetts and generally stayed in that area. If Tom can tell us where his folks are from in the USA we could help him narrow the search.
