I think you will find H H SCHMIDT was registered at birth and death as Hermann Adolph but may have also had Heinrich (Henry) as another middle name since his father was named Heinrich. Mother was named Anna KILIAN.
Hermann * SCHMIDT was born 2 Dec 1872 at Stockwell in the Angaston district. Reg #119/332
The SCHMIDT family moved from Stockwell to Quorn in the 1880s.

Mr. Hermann Schmidt, who died recently at his home at Gordon (NSW) at the age of 71, was well known for many years in the northern areas of South Australia and the Broken Hill district, where at different times he was a boundary rider, shearer, colt breaker, athlete, mail driver, scalper, publican, race horse owner and trainer. He twice crossed the continent from Adelaide to Darwin with saddle and packhorse. During his horse training days he bred Valour, Lord French, Pastoral, Lady French, French King, Lady Gordon and Zaika, among others. After driving the Innaminka mail for a number of years for the late Mr. Oakes, of Merty Merty Station, Mr. Schmidt purchased the Innamincka Hotel. Later he was in business at the Lyndhurst, Wilson and Gordon Hotels. After spending about two years in Adelaide he returned to Gordon, with his wife, son and daughter a few years ago.

Hermann married Evelyn TURVEY on 28 Jun 1913 in Adelaide. The TURVEY family were resident in the Frome district for some years.
