1891 Census Gypsy? Circus?

Hi,

I am not sure whether anyone can help but I have had trouble finding my Great Grandad and his family in the 1891 census... There has been talk that maybe the family could have either been gypsies or involved with the circus... There is an old family rumour that one member of the family ran off to join the circus so I am completely 100% clutching at straws wondering whether this is where they could have been in 1891...I was just wondering whether there is anywhere else to look to find them in 1891 if this is the case. If anyone can find them I will be eternally grateful as I have been looking for some years! .

My Great Grandad was called William Page, He was born in Great Shelford, Cambridge in 1856. My Great Grandmother was called Mary Maria Page and she was born in 1862 in Edgefield, Norfolk. At the time of the 1891 census they had two children Robert William Page born in 1886 in Hempstead, Norfolk and Fountain George Page born in 1890 in Jarrow on Tyne.

Do you have Fountain George's birth cert which should give an address and William's occupation in 1890 at least?

These may explain the reason they moved briefly to the north east from Norfolk, although they seem to have returned to Norfolk by the time their next child Minnie was born.

Many thanks for the replies, I do have Fountains birth certificate, they were living at 95 Tyne Street, Jarrow and his father William was a blast furnace labourer.. I have looked at this address in 1891 and they had moved on .

Many thanks for the listing for 'F Page' as well.. Unfortunately from the information I already have for Fountain, I do not think this is a match but thank you anyway .

The reply from Bob on an earlier post mentions that family rumour says it was Fountain who ran off to join the circus - so a long time after 1891
