Possible Marriage US
« on: Thursday 22 August 13 17:09 BST (UK) »
Looking for a marriage between John Davitt and Catherine Banahan about 1910, Catherine came from Roscommon Ireland, Information given to me is that Johns mother was born in Ireland, according to the 1920 US Census. John and Catherine lived at ?003 or 663 10th Ave NY,
What I would like to know is did Catherine and John marry in the US...and can anyone help in finding a record of the marriage if they did, I believe Catherine died in 1956 NY.
Thanks for reading
Artisann

Did Catherine have a brother Michael ? Or a sister Mary Ann ?

Just incase this is the right connection, here is an article that was in the Long Island City NY Star Journal - Monday November 12 th 1951.

Mrs Mary Ann Banahan Kearns, a resident of Jackson heights since 1928 died yesterday in a New York hospital. A native of County Roscommon, Ireland. Mrs Kearns was the wife of Dominick Kearns, a retired Consolidated Edison employee.
Surviving are 2 sons James J of Washington heights and Teddy Kearns of Jackson Heights and 4 daughters Mrs Della Grunenberg of Bayside, Mrs Kathleen Mangan and Mrs Helen Adams both of Flushing and May Kearns of Jackson Heights. A sister Mrs Catherine Davitt and a brother Michael Banahan both of Jackson Heights. A Requiem Mass will be offered at 10.00 am. Wednesday at Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Jackson Heights. Burial will be in Mount St Marys Cemetery, Flushing under the direction of Conway Funeral Home 82-19 Northern Boulevard, Jackson Heights.

Have added info to the post in reply 5 which seems to match your Banahan family.
