There is a similar list here, but no further details:-

http://archive.org/details/alphabeticallist00dodwrich

His mother being a Charlotte makes sense as his eldest daughter is a Charlotte, followed,I think by Mary,Sarah,Sophia and Elizabeth-the latter two being baptised in 1811 in London(births1799 and 1802 in India).

I cannot find any reference to a William Marshall/Charlotte Jennings marriage, nor find any clue as to their origins,As a complete stab in the dark, there is a Charlotte Jennings, baptised 1722 in Westminster, parents Robert and Amelia and also a William Marshall in Westminster in 1715,but this is hardly an uncommon name.I've tried to look for death/burial records for such a pair to see if that helped but no joy so far.

Regards
Roger

I can understand the 1752 reference now:-

http://search.fibis.org/frontis/bin/aps_detail.php?id=1039370

His will,I think, provides no further clues as to his origin, but appears to say a local woman was his "..,companion for 42 years and mother of his natural children....."

The children include a Julia.Whether she is synonymous with any of the previously named daughters I don't know.

Regards
Roger

Hi All

Just thought i would resurrect a 5 years old thread!

I have recently come into possession of a sword that belong to Sir Dyson Marshall along with two pictures. The sword came from a present relative through auction.
The first of the two pictures is of Sir Dyson himself. The relative confirmed this and his name has been written on the back.
The second picture is possibly of his son Simon Marshall. The relative knows less about him apart from confirming he served in the military like Sir Dyson.

I was hoping to see if anyone on here had more info on Simon Marshall? I have searched Harts list but it is not easy to use and may have missed him.

Here are the pictures for interest. :)
