Welcome to RChat Jendi,

Do you have any of the NSW BDM documents that have already been mentioned in this thread?

Cheers,  JM

What BDM certs etc do you already have, what info have you gleaned from these, what other info have you already gleaned etc...

Cheers,  JM

Hi Jendi,
I see there was a probate administration for James John LUCAS in 1891
http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article114309158  (presumably for the man who died in 1890)

This implies that there is a probate packet for him at NSW state records - however it won't appear in online index as it is in the "gap years" of 1890-1914. (adding : very annoying - I wonder when they will complete the online index?)

I can check the microfiche index the next time I am state records and hopefully photograph the probate packet for you.  It may contain a death cert and possibly other useful info.

regards
   Ros

I think Ros is spot on in assuming that's James John LUCAS file.  NSW SR online index has Sadler's Creek and 24 Nov 1890.  (Reel 3025)  :)  :)  :)   Sadler's Creek definitely in Muswellbrook district.

NSW Electoral Roll 1878 THE UPPER HUNTER
John J LUCAS, freehold of Saddler's Creek, in the Musclebrook Police District.
NO OTHERS with that surname in that police district on the roll.
