I have just found an ancestor Thomas Donaldson who was in the Royal Navy, a baptism entry of one of his children in 1836 Gillingham, Kent says he was a gunner on the HMS Rhin. I found a likely entry in the National Archives online catalogue. Can anyone please tell me whether there is a pension record for him that would tell me where he was born? I presume the Application: Greenwich 2 July 1838 might be a pension application.
