magnetic hill?

As a child I remember a sunday drive around Lincs and Dad turning off the engine . to go up a small hill which he said was magnetic. I was enthralled. The problem is I can't remember where it was.Is there anyone here who knows please? At that time we lived in Lincoln and being a sunday drive I doubt its too far away.
