On the other hand trish1120, there is still James H OSWIN in Grantham in 1901 (Notts in 1911) for whom no obvious marriage exists ... and the fact that he was missing in 1891.  I think he'd done a runner. ;)

I think he was 18 in 1881, this one
Births Sep 1862
OSWIN    James Henry         Melton M.    7a   237

Looks as though Dinah Pullin / Pullen was married twice, if not three times:

From FreeBMD
Marriage Registration:
First Quarter 1875
HALES Robert to PULLIN Dinah - Grantham - Vol 7a - Page 631

Then
Second Quarter 1886 to James Henry OSWIN - Grantham - Vol 7a - Page 911

and then to George Wellbourn / Wellbourne.

Added:

Eccles (Hoylake / Exeter / Plymouth)
Hicks (Devonport, Plymouth)
Grafton (Exeter, Devon)
Harris (Marazion, Cornwall)
Collard (Yeovil, Somerset)
Johns (Devonport, Plymouth)
Lyle (Bude, Cornwall)

Different Dinah - Dinah HALES was 29 in 1881, Dinah OSWIN was 22 in 1891.

Dinah HALES may have had a missing husband in 1881, but that's another story. ;)

I am 8 years late to this thread, but long story short, when Dinah Oswin, his first wife finally died in 1908, James Henry Oswin married Charlotte Musson, his common law wife.

Their daughter Rose Ellen Oswin Musson, born 1898, was my grandmother.
