7th Lancashire Artillery Volunteers
« on: Thursday 12 September 13 15:53 BST (UK) »
Hi

Does anybody have any information on the 7th Lanchashire artillery volunteers.

My ancestor Mary Hannah Sadler (Ollier) had four children. I have found the baptism records for these children and the fathers name was James Sadler. His profession on the baptism records is shown as drill instructor and later sergeant for the 7th Lancs Artillary volunteers. Their address at the time was Hyde Road, Ardwick, Lancashire (near Manchester) and I am despearte to find out more about Mr James Sadler. Their last child was born in 1898 and by the 1901 census he must have died because on the 1901 census Mary is shown as a widow. So far all I have is his name on the baptism records. I do not know of his birth, marriage or his death date. Would anybody know if his service records would still exist or where I could obtain copies?

Any help on discovering more about James Sadler would be gratefully received.

Many thanks,

Adam.

This is a duplicate of a request that has already received a number of replies.

Unfortunately - posting the same request on multiple boards just results in a great deal of frustration and duplication of the same info/questions.  I see somebody else has also asked for the same info as I have asked above

You have also posted an identical request on the Armed forces board

Different people access different boards and are not always aware of duplicate posts.   I looked at your post on the Common Room Board and there was insufficient info to make any enquiries hence my question.

Whilst looking at some other posts - I noticed the same post on the Lancashire board - and the same questions had been asked there as well.

If you want to post the same request on different boards for whatever reason - it is usually a good idea to include that info in your post and also the links to the other posts - as I have done above.

That way - anybody reading them can avoid duplication of efforts/info/questions by accessing the other posts to see what info has already been posted
