1881 census - are there different transcriptions?
« on: Wednesday 15 June 05 19:14 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am trying to find John Smithers born 1856 Islington on the 1881 census(and also on 1861 but that's another story). I have him on 1891 with family in Fulham. He married Louisa Fleetwood in 1877 .

I can't find him at all, or his wife Louisa born 1854 Wantage, Berks.

Any chance if I look on a different website I might find them ?
Ancestry and LDS can't locate them.

losing my hair by degrees  :'(

I don't know the answer, but it isn't just you!

Have you tried an address search in 1881, using the address from 1891?

did they have any children who are likely to be around in 1881 and where were they born?

This is certainly tricky  ::)

Hi Arranroots

Tricky is the word !

Their first child, Fanny was born in 1881. in Camden. so the address in Fulham in 1891 is not the same area.

I'll keep looking  :P
