Sofus and Edith Spliid

I am trying to obtain information about my great grandparents Sofus and Edith Spliid. Sofus was born in Denmark in 1891 and Edith born 12/10/1893. They were married in 1914 and had a daughter Edith born 03/05/1916. Any further information would be appreciated.

No info on your ggrandparents as yet apart from the probate of Sofus in 1960, but did you know Edith (dau) went to China at the age of 21?

I see your ggrandfather's death was registered with one I. Were they married in England or overseas and where was Edith born because I can't find a marriage or birth.

 shows a hit for naturalisation (application S S Spliid from 1940 and certificate in 1949?)
Sofus Sorensen Spliid from Denmark.

In order to get the application (HO 405) file you would have to apply to the national archives - I know it says it is closed but you can apply for reconsider.  I would supply information on the death of daughter Edith (in Australia in 2003, yes?) as that may influence the decision.  The information in this file could prove vital to working out Sofus' origins.

Marriage (in Norwich) and birth of daughter (in London) took place as Splud (freebmd.rootsweb.com).  Edith was "Edith E Browne".    Do you have the marriage certificate?  If you do, can you give us all the info there? e.g. father's name if listed, witnesses, his address and occupation.
