The 1938 New England hurricane - photos
« on: Friday 20 September 13 15:01 BST (UK) »
When I was growing up in Massachusetts, my father used to point out to me the landscape features that had been changed by the impact of the 1938 hurricane.  He was in high school there when the storm hit.

Some months ago I found a good documentary film about the 1938 hurricane on the PBS American Experience website.  Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be possible to watch it there anymore but a it might be possible to buy a video.  In the 60s when I lived in New England for a year I remember being shown driftwood left high in bushes during that hurricane.
