Derlwyn is a hamlet of a few cottages so I suppose they were all lumped together.

Well, at least we wont be hanging over the previous Blacksmith's gate marvelling at how they had shoehorned 7 offspring into it!

Margaret( Evans) Davies must have had fond memories of Derlwyn as her children all went to stay with her parents  there for holidays and two of her children named their residences "Derlwyn" when they built their own homes in later years.

One of the Derlwyns is supposed to be in Cwmann,  Pencarreg but I have not found it.

Thank you so much for all the works you have done for me.

Sandra

Just returned from a tour of cwmann, Lampeter, silian, bettws bldrws, derlwyn, chapel dewi and llandysul.

4 very happy cousins who had never met before.

Thank you for all the help you gave. Today would have been a non event without your help.

So thank you so much.  Saw the Smithy and the cottages in Derlwyn thanks to the post codes given.  Sandra

On our visit to Derlwyn we found it to be a hamlet. A group of terraced cottages.  The blacksmiths.  A largish house next door named Limberlost and then at the end of the lane a large farm.

It is conceivable that the able bodied living in the hamlet then worked for the farmer.   Hence one of the Mary's husbands being shown as a farm laborer.

Just after capell Dewi there is a turning for Derlwyn where there is a newly opened Community shop,  and a couple of cottages.

I have added this in case someone researching their family finds they would like some inf re Derlwyn. For the sake of local colour.
