WHO / WHERE is this?
« on: Wednesday 15 June 05 21:23 BST (UK) »
Does anyone recognise where this photo may have been taken? I believe it is somewhere in Northern Ireland - possibly Antrim.

Any thoughts on year of photo and anyone recognise the gentleman in picture?

Thanks folks ;D

I though men wearing wedding rings was a fairly recent habit!

I don't know much about collars but, comparing other photos from my Sentry Hill book, I would guess at c1900 - collars appear more pointed in later years.

Hopefully someone reading this will know more about gents fashions thro the ages than I do! ;D

OK, I'll have a go - after 1900, probably around 1910 or even a bit later, judging by the collar.

Thanks for that Prue - I was wondering if I ought to have posted this on a different board - maybees one re old photos. I hoped someone might recognise the location from their travels but not a lot of response so far.

We think he belongs in our family but we are not sure to which branch.

Thanks anyway - I will keep trying ;D

Hi Saz,
try it on the Photograph Restoration board - you're sure to get a good response there!
