Thomas Plunket, C.1839-1905:
« on: Sunday 29 September 13 04:02 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Have Thomas Plunket married to a Catherine Creamer, married on 12/Feb/1872 in Ballinamore RC Church in Leitrim, Catherine's home area. They moved to Cavan and I have seven children from 1901 & 1911 Censuses, all born in Co. Cavan.
Michael 1873
George 1875
Mary 1876
Susan 1878
Catherine 1881
Ellen 1885
Thomas 1887.

Family addresses on census returns are 1901, House 2 Torrewa, Ballymagauran, Cavan. 1911, (Kate) Catherine Plunket now a widow head of family at House 2 Tereva, Ballymagauran, Cavan.

Any help with children's marriages and their own children would be appreciated. :D.

                                                                                                    Regards,
                                                                                                           Duncan.

P.S. More information on the Creamer family can be found on Leitrim section.

George's age is slightly off but looks like he died in Rhode Island, U.S.A. in 1937 so there will be lots of online information for him- census records, immigration, etc. He married so there's a chance of descendants which can also be traced in U.S. records.

Daughter Mary Anne died 1939 also in Rhode Island and was married-

Another possible daughter? Margaret married in New York-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Cheers Aghadowey,
That's a great start for me to look into, thank you.
                                                                                                Regards,
                                                                                                        Duncan.

P.S. Ages seem to vary on some records for the births in this family, from ages given on census returns I had noted this is common on records in Ireland, during my recent work.

Found George as a Policeman with wife Ellen (married 1910 Rhode Island) & daughter Anna G, 1915 Rhode Island Census. Sister to George, Mary Anne married to James Keegan 1905 Rhode Island, eight children to the couple from censuses, hurrah!

Would be interested in contacting you as I know a small bit about Tereva and I am anxious to know more. I farm all the lands in Tereva.

Don't know if this is of any help? but there is a Thomas & Catherine Plunkett listed as witnesses on my ancestors baptism cert. They are listed as sponsors to a William McGuire born Feb 1901 in Drumlane Co. Cavan. The parents are William McGuire and Catherine Fitzpatrick.

I know this is an old thread. However, I thought I'd reply that Mary Anne Keegan nee Plunkett was my great grandmother. She was married to James Keegan. They had at least one child, Lillian who married George Wood (my maternal grandparents).
