That is the couple on the census I linked in reply 5.  John was born in New York.

Unfortunately you will have to remove the name of the son and all the names of the grandchildren shown in the obituary, they are living people.

Port Jervis is in Orange County, which has a genealogical society.  http://www.ocgsny.org/index.htm  I believe they charge a fee for any research.

If you are looking for the parentage of John W Kleinstuber who married Ethel in your obit, then it looks like his family came prior to 1870, from Germany.  According to the 1930 census, Ethel, while born in NY, has parents who were born in ENG.  Maybe they took a trip to ENG for their honeymoon to see her family.  There may be passports that were issued to John and Ethel for this trip.

Following the census data backwards:

1930 Census:  Orange County, NY
Kleinstuber, John W b. 1869, NY, GER, GER
                  Ella M , b. 1871, NY, NY, NY
John E, son, b. 1905, NY, NY, NY
Ethel, dau in law, b. NY, ENG, ENG
                           grandson, b. NY

1920 Census:

1910 Census:  Orange County, NY
Kleinstuber, John W
                  Ella M, mother of 4, 3 living
                  Robert E, 16, b. NY
                  John E, 6, b. NY
                  Carl, 5, b. NY

1900 Census: Orange County, NY
Kleinstuber, John W, b. Sep 1868, b. NY, GER, GER
                  Ella M, b. Aug 1870, b. NY, NY, NY, mother of 2, 2 living
Earl, b. Dec 1892, b. NY, NY, NY
Philabena, dau, b. Jan 1895, b. NY, NY, NY

Kleinstuber, Phillippine, b. Jan 1844, b. GER, GER, GER
                  Benj, son, b Jun 1878, b. NY
                  Edwin, son, b. Nov 1880, b. NY
                  Louise, dau, b. Nov 1866, b. NY

1880 Census: Orange County, NY
Kleinstuber, John, 47, b. GER
                  Phebe, 36, b. GER
                  Louisa, 15, b. NY
                  Anna, 13, b. NY
                  John W, 11, b. NY
                  Benj C, 1, b. NY

link to Ethel's obit:

http://www.riverreporter.com/issues/05-12-15/obits.html

According to her obit, her parents were George and Mary Tupper Hoare.  Ethel was born 9 Oct 1904 in Brooklyn, NY.

Modified:  not 100% sure the census data was the correct one
