Are there any indexes which are free on the internet for this period which would possibly have his name
Thanks

Only the National Archive's Catalogue which you already have. I am concerned that an in-pensioner in Greenwich would die in Gloucestershire. Have you got his death certificate?

The national archives have replied and they say it costs £467.67 for them to carry out the search without the guarantee that the record is even is there. So much for freedom of information act eh!

You're confusing Freedom of Information with free information! ;D ::)

Not the same thing at all! ::)
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

No I have not got his death certificate I am relying on the 1851 census and know that he was not an in pensioner as there is an index online of Greenwich pensioners for the dates and he does not show up
