Eliza SMITH and Henry Forster WALDEN

I have a note that this couple married at the Baptist Chapel, Cambridge, England 21 Nov 1871 - but neglected to note where I found it. I also have a note that the marriage was performed by Charles Goodson.
Can anyone confirm this? Just shows, you should always take note of your sources.

On the same page Eliza Smith.

There is a tree on Ancestry that has this marriage, with the date and place you give. However they give her name as Eliza Palmer, his second wife. They then emigrate to NZ.

That's them - Henry was her second husband, and after her death in NZ he married for a third time.
I'm so frustrated that I've lost where I got the info about who performed the marriage because the person was my great grandfather, and one of his daughters later married one of Eliza's sons. They all emigrated to NZ about the same time.

Well I obviously told her - but still don't know where I originally got it from. I still don't know how he got to be able to perform marriages - I haven't found proof anywhere that he was a Preacher - family legend says he was a Preacher but just that he preached at them (my father used to dread going to his grandfather's on Sunday) Did people have to have any qualifications? And I'm not sure about the NZ marriage, but who knows??

Have you found him in the 1871 census - what does it give there as his occupation?

An entry in the Cambridge Marriage Notice Book dated 1871 Oct 10 shows that they intended to marry at the Zion Chapel, East Road, Cambridge, without licence.
