However

I can't find a H Vincent Phillips, son, with this family in the census's.

Found him, he is actually the Grandson of Charles David Phillips (1845-1912) and the son of Charles David Phillips jnr. and his wife Emma Askew Swalwell. He was born Sept. 1909 - died 6 Sept. 1934 South Africa.

His probate record

HUGH VINCENT PHILLIPS~ of the staff qtrs Crown Mines Johannesberg S.A. died 6 Sept. 1934 at the Park Lane Nursing Home Johannesberg. Probate London to Charles David Phillips (the younger) and Charles David Phillips (the elder) engineers.
Effects: £3348  0s  9d.
Resworn: £ 4957  17s  5d.

CHARLES DAVID PHILLIPS, of the GAER, Newport Monmouthshire was my Great Grandfather.
After the death of my Grandfather, Mr Charles David Phillips and my Grandmother, Mrs Barbara Phillips,  we discovered a small box containing a few artefacts pertaining to his younger brother known as 'Chip' - Mr Hugh Vincent Phillips. These included a newspaper article about his death, a locket of his hair and some christening baby clothes. If you would like any other info please drop me a line. Thanks, Nikki Jones ( ne. Phillips)
