Hi Alandal
The only John Stickland (and variants) I can find on the 1861 census is:
John Stickland 56 a widowed Market Porter born St peter Port, Guernsey. He is a lodger with the family of Francis Hall at (H? FL?)avelot Road, St Peter Port, Guernsey.
The ref is:
RG9 Piece 4383 Folio 35 page 24.
Could this be him?
Can't find Ann or Alfred though!

Anne,

You have been busy !

This John could possibly be ours, as looks around the right age - but other than seeing that he was a 'hairdresser' living in St. George Street, St Peter Port, Guernsey, in 1841 we know very little else about him.

No sign of Alfred I assume ??

Thanks,

Alandal

Hi
The only ALFRED of the correct age in Guernsey on the 1861 census is a ALFRED STOCKWELL, and I've checked the actual image and its not a miss transcription it clearly says STOCKWELL.
Could he have been in England? Shall I look for you?
