"Cemeteries of S W Victoria", Ian Marr
« on: Wednesday 23 October 13 04:13 BST (UK) »
Hello All,

Has any one bought this? It seems to be a monumental undertaking ;D, but do I need it?
(I know I WANT it, but want is different to need :'(

If some one does have it are you allowed to give out information from it?
At the moment all I need is:

Bridget Teresa Ryan was buried at Colac Cemetery late August 1914.  I am sure she will have a headstone. Does the headstone contain any information about her husband or family?
Husband was John Joseph Ryan and he died later than 1914.
Thank You
Jean

Hi Jean,
There is not a headstone for Bridget Teresa Ryan at Colac Cemetery.

There were a great many RYANs in the district.

If you give more details of her family, something regarding headstones might be found.

Thank You Sue,

Yes Bridget Teresa Ryan did die at Coleraine but is buried at Colac with her Consedine parents. Apparently they have a vault or some such thing.
I was hoping that some wording had been added to the Consedine vault.
Do you have the Ian Marr collection?

There is a monument memorialising Edward and Mary CONSEDINE at Colac Cemetery.
I cannot say whether it marks a vault or not.
I may be able to help with photo of it. Let me know by PM.

I have not seen children to the RYAN's on the indexes. There is an electoral roll listing for them in 1914.  He was a butcher and she did HD's.  No others of the surname were at the address, Irrewillipie, although it would be with, or close to, her parents as the location is the same as Edward CONSEDINE's E. Roll details ..

There are death notices for both Edward and MARY.
Do you have them?

Sue,

Sorry for the delay - yes, Thank You, I do have the death notices for the Consedine parents, and for Bridget Teresa.

I was hoping some one would respond re "Ian Marr" as both my husband and I have many families in S W Victoria, and I was wondering whether I should buy it as a Christmas present to myself.

Again, thank you for your interest.
