William Edwin Birchenall

My relative William Edwin Birchenall married an Evelyn I Harvey at Cambridge in 1938.Both are now dead.However according to an online Tree the couple had one child.This child though doesn't appear in the GRO Birth Index on Ancestry,all things being equal as far as spelling is concerned!

I will be very grateful if anyone can find this child on any other available Birth Index,though realising that it will have to be sent as a PM as the child is likely to be alive!

If you think the child was born in Cambridgeshire you could try the Camdex index- avaliable through the Cambridgeshire Family History site

Ive been thro' findmypast and found no child born Birchenall/harvey in cambridgeshire nor the rest of country. when i opened up the spelling i got 2 hits both for camberwell both for BIRCHALL/harvey terence A born JFM 1943 1d 592 and pamela A born AMJ 1945 1d 466

Thanks,I would have thought that a surname like Birchenall wouldn't bring many problems like many of my other surnames such as Jones etc!There are though apparently a few births i can't find on Ancestry!

Hi William, I have had a look on Camdex and found a marriage for a possible child of William and Evelyn, although I cant find a birth for the possible child at all. Because this person may still be living, I will PM you the details.
It might be worth getting a copy of Evelyns death certificate to see who is the informant on the certificate.

Hi William,

Just had a quick look about again and on another site it suggests that William And Evelyn's child was born in another country due to the fact that William was in the Armed forces.

If this is correct then we wont find the child on any bmd's for the UK, my eldest son was born in a BMH in Germany and isn't on any bmd index's for the UK.
Will PM you with info.
