« on: Tuesday 29 October 13 20:24 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
I'm trying to discover the final resting place of Henry Eoghan O'Brien (1876-1967). Any information would be much appreciated.
                       Many Thanks

You have posted on the general board - which county did he die in?

I don't know where Henry died. His formative years were spent in Ireland, and, although he lived and worked in England, I could find no trace of his death there. Henry's wife was Irish, so , my hunch was that he retired there.
                   Thanks Carole

Unfortunately the online civil registration index only goes up to 1958 for the Republic of Ireland.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Newspaper article placed by his solicitors in 1971, asking creditors to come forward before his estate is distributed - says he died 9th Sept 1967 "late of Eagle Lodge Killiney. Co Dublin. Lt Colonel in H.M Forces (retired)
I'd try Deansgrange and then Mt Jerome for a burial.

My mother (his only granddaughter) says he was buried in the Church of Ireland church in Killiney, and that there is also a memorial tablet to his son in the same church.

His death record 1967 states that he died at Mount Eagle, Vico Road, Killiney.
