Find the dates posted very confusing. Was Sir John Rogerson who was born 1676? and died 1741? and what's 1726- date he married 2nd wife?

In any case, all of the dates here are well before the start of civil registration, census records, most surviving church records, etc.?

I did find this on a John Rogerson born 1676 and died 1741 who was the son of a Sir John Rogerson but little details given-

Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Notwithstanding the health warning over the accuracy of what follows, have a look at it:

http://www.bryan-martin.net/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I1291&tree=gam

And this:

http://www.bryan-martin.net/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I1283&tree=gam

If this is accurate, my understanding is that Elizabeth Ward was 2nd wife of John Rogerson senior c. 1650 - 1726, not the son c. 1676 - 1741.

Or am I reading this wrong?

Hello Gaffy
Thank you for that my Aunt always said that  we were the second family off Sir John Rogerson born 1647 but been told no way  ;D so I think she was right she did have the wedding docket but in the 60's she was told it was not real and it got lost some how.
Now to find  a son with John and Elizabeth should be good.  I am getting close now to joining the dots
Thanks again
Anneelaine
