Seeking help locating further information on a William Candide LETICQ born Canada 1835, came to Australia, Married Emma Louise Bruche. He died in 1868 at Melbourne Hospital.

There has been various spelling of Leticq/Leticque/Letticq. Im hoping fresh Eyes may be able to point me in the next direction.

Candi Letiecq - 18 year old male. There are several other Letiecq's on the same page. If you search for Letiecq in the 1851 census on the LAC website there are about 11 altogether.

Sami, that spelling you found has opened up all new avenues, I have not searched the spelling Letiecq at all and so far this afternoon have found matches to that Census for a Sebastian/ or Joseph Sebastian Letiecq and the others listed in that census on Mundia however Candid/William Candide  was not attached to those trees via Mundia. He has popped up as on Mundia as separate listings but no parents details and no link between trees.

Now to find out exactly who his parents were, I tried this new spelling and still cant locate when he arrived in Australia.

Do you have his marriage and death certificates from Australia? Any hints about parentage there?

Given the timing, it's possible he came over for the gold rush.

No jorose, I have no documentation of their marriage yet.  I found my great grandmother on Mundia, linked to a William Candide Leticq (varied spellings). But no detail of his parents. I have spent so much money on certificates thus far, the last I need on a couple of people is on ancestry I think, I just don't have the cash to sign up, I joined years ago to see if I could link up but there were no records then, but now so many are researching so much more info is available.
