All I Think Is Correct But Thomas Died In 1979

If Thomas died in Birkenhead then his death reg shows he was 90 when he died and was born 2.2.1889

There is another Thomas Ashworth death reg in Tameside Cheshire in 1979 which shows his birthyear as 24.9.1904 and aged 75 when he died in September 1979

If Thomas was about 76 when he died then he is presumably the one b 1904 above

There is no Thomas Ashworth birth in Cheshire in either the September or December qtr 1904 - see freebmd

Did Thomas die in Cheshire?

Here's the death reg from the GRO index

Thomas Ashworth  born 24.9.1904 Death registered September 1979  Tameside Cheshire Vol 39 Page 1534

If you lookup his death on www.cheshirebmd.org .uk - it shows his age as 74 whereas the transcription on Ancestry has subtracted his birthyear (1904) from his death year (1979) and come up with age 75.

Depending on exactly when he died in September - he may just have missed his 75th birthday.

Info on death certs is very much dependant on who reported the death and how well they knew the deceased.  However, IF - his birthday was definitely 24th Sept - then he wasn't born in Cheshire.  The only birth around that time was a Thomas Ashworth in the March qtr 1905 Birkenhead

The Marriage Details For Edwin Ashworth,Says His Both Parents Are The Same As Thomas Ashworths Birth Details For 1899. Which Confirms To Me They Were Brothers.

It seems the Tree I quoted from has one pretty obvious flaw.

It has the Thomas Ashworth they have marrying for the first time to a Kate E Ayling at Birkenhead in 1920 and upon Kate E's death given before 1935,marrying for a second time to a Margaret Ellen Price in 1935.

However there is one big flaw I've found, the Kate E was a Kate Elizabeth Ayling born in 1893 in Birkenhead. There is a death for a Kate Elizabeth Ashworth in Birkenhead in 1993 at the ripe old age of 100!
