Can my scanned picture be cleaned up and dated please?
« on: Saturday 16 November 13 06:29 GMT (UK) »
Hello!

Hoping you can work your beautiful magic on a scanned/emailed picture I received of my ggfather and family.

Help to date too if possible.

Left: Richard (b Apr 1876); Tennyson in back (b Jun 1899); Gordon in front (b Jan 1909); Annie (b Feb 1879)

Think it had to be before Feb 1916 as that was when their only daughter was born and she is not in this family picture.

Thank you!   :)

I was thinking around 1910, then I saw Gordon's birthdate and as he looks about a year or so old it would fit very nicely indeed :)

Does the owner of the photo have the original, or just a poor scan? This has some horrible moiré going on, which looks like a badly scanned newspaper photo, but the family portrait style isn't usually what you'd see in a paper. It may have been scanned with the wrong scanner setting. Just a thought :)

Aren't they nice-looking people!

Cheers,

Thank you so much for the restores.  I truly appreciate them.  Also to China for the help with the dating.

It's an emailed picture I've received and don't know if it's from an actual copy so I've sent a request to see what type of picture it was.  Photocopy perhaps?  I've no idea but if I get a reply I'll be sure to post back.

Thanks again!!!!  They definitely look much better than what I had.

Terry, Thank you so much for your beautiful restores!

Thanks again to all.  :)  I truly appreciate your help.

I've received a reply from the person that sent it to me earlier this year that it's a photocopy he had received by email.

I will treasure these all forever.

Kind regards.   :)
