Nevertheless, I do agree with Orkrad that it could perhaps be Owen which was one of the names I was considering too.

There isn't anybody called Owen Chance and very few called Allen Chance- certainly not Aussie soldiers though. So maybe that line isn't actually his name.

I was hoping the surname would be Brown or Baker  ::)

I saw Owen or Gwen to start with, but then saw Allen and settled with that.

I'm liking the rhyming Chance and France !  ;D

But I did wonder about Charlie for the second word, and have been trying to get "Uncle" from the first, possible but not over-convincing.

Allen Chance, somewhere in France! Has a nice ring about!

If Crace is possible(it looks one letter short unless the thicker line is a mistake)- why not Bruce?(it looks like a lower case "b" admittedly,but does he not  use a lower case "f" in "France"?)
