George Bernard McPate would be my uncle. It was stated that he arrived in NZ in 1957 ( The second Coming )  He was returning from a European trip with his wife Violet and daughter Kaye
There were two children from that marriage (*) who married and had two children, The boy was (*) and a girl whose name eludes me at the moment. The second sibling was Kaye,  Born about 1941 I believe.  She married a lad named Wally (*), and I believe still live in Dunedin.
Marriage was about 1964-65

George was working for the Inland Revenue ( Income Tax ) department in Dunedin.  I believe that was his sole occupation apart from his WWII Military service

George served in the NZ Scottish regiment in WWII, saw action at Monte Casino and Italy generally.
My father (*), was George's eldest brother.  And we ( Mum Dad and I ) travelled to NZ in 1959, also aboard a NZSCo cargo liner RUAHINE. I returned to Europe in 1967 then came to Australia at Christmas 1971.  My parents returned to UK in 1968 and lived in Thorney near Peterborough UK

Hi Don, Very good to hear from you. The last time we "spoke" was in 1957 at "Kirkgreen" on my return from Germany. No time now but will be in touch soon with more detail.

I would be pleased to receive any details of the entry /entries.
Thanks in anticipation.
