daughter of William (supposedly 2nd name Barnes but I am not sure) Layton (B1843 - 1912 Clarke)
The William who died in 1912 had no middle name listed and there has been no indication that his middle was Barnes based on the posts in this thread. The only William Barnes Layton found is the one who died in 1873.
Regarding William, you might want to consider contacting someone about getting a copy of the actual marriage registration to clarify the names on it. I've never used this website but the Durham County History and Genealogy website has a number of databases and will provide copies of documents for a small fee. I saw the marriage for William Layton and Jane Anderson included as well as a number of other Layton entries in various databases. There is an email link at the site to contact the site owner.
