Keathbank

Does anyone know what or where Keathbank is or was. I have 2 births - 1875 and 1877 and the place of birth is given as Keathbank. The mothers of these girls were sisters and the family were Irish Catholics living in Dundee. Was Keathbank some sort of unmarried mothers institution?

On the birth registration Keathbank is in the Parish of Rattray.

There is Keithbank Mill in Blairgowrie.

Thank you so very much for your information. Have had a look at the link forwarded to me. I'm guessing that perhaps their mothers (who were sisters) were simply working there and returned home once they'd had their babies.

I also have found two sisters living together at Keithbank with what appear to be children born out of marriage.
Surname McKenzie, spelling later changes to (Mackenzie) further down the line.

Along with Keithbank mill it appears that there are Keithbank cottages (also simply referred to as Keithbank on docs) that, as far as I can tell, consisted of about 4/5 dwellings.
This is where I think people giving their address as Keithbank lived.
There were some stories on the British newspaper archive associated with some of the dwelling that might be of interest. (a shooting of someone and subsequent manhunt in the area if I remember correctly)
