The Joneses who were smiths
« on: Saturday 18 June 05 15:22 BST (UK) »
I'm looking for leads on the Jones family of Llanbadarn Fynydd. Richard senior (b1821) was blacksmith in Llananno and Llanbadarn Fynnydd. His son, also Richard, was smith at Llananno and Llanddewi Ystradenny. Grandson Richard (another smith) worked in Llananno at the 1901 census.
James Jones (son of the middle Richard) was the smith at Llanbadarn Fynnydd from 1871 onwards - he married Sarah Anne Brick (searches always come up with brick walls and not Bricks!)

I'd like to trace Richard senior's father - Timothy (thank goodness  not another Richard), who was a blacksmith, probably from Kerry, Montgomeryshire or any of the Joneses from Llanbadarn Fynydd, Llananno or Llanbister. I have census details from 1861-1901, but I've lost some Joneses on the way and they're not easy people to find!
Any suggestions from fellow Jones sufferers?
Jones, Mantle; Radnorshire
Russell, Stonehouse, Agar; Yorkshire/Durham
Brown, Fair; Durham,
Little, Cumberland
Morris, Woolley, Owens; Montgomeryshire.

Thank you very kindly! There's a tasty lead already with the Bennet nephew from Mochdre. I feel a visit to the National Library coming on....
