Onions family walsall
« on: Wednesday 04 December 13 08:58 GMT (UK) »
On the 1911 census my ggrandfather John Alfred Onions stated that 13 children were born and eleven were living. I have a record of the nine on the 1911 census my grandad Alfred was living away on a farm. I did have the 1901 census but can't find it now, and my subscription to ancestry has run out.
On familysearch I found Ethel Onions b22nd November 1899 and so only one child is unaccounted for.
Could someone be really kind and look up the 1901 census for me please.
They lived in Rowley Street Walsall.  Thank you.

Thanks Kay it looks like Liza S is the missing one as Harold b 1902 and Arthur b 1904 make thirteen I will have to investigate Liza S and Ethel a bit more as no-one has ever mentioned them.  Chris,

Relooked at the 1891 and Liza S could be Liza L which would tie in with the birth of an Elizabeth Louisa Onions in 1881 in Walsall

Edit - She was working as a general domestic servant in 1901 in Walsall

Thanks so much Kay, that's why I couldn't find Liza she was Elisabeth Louisa. Does it have an address in 1901 for her ? I will have to look for a marriage now.  I still can't find Ethel  b 1899 you would think she would be on the 1901 census.

There is a death for Ethel at 1 year old on FreeBMD, so I think she died just  pre the 1901 census in Mar Qtr 1901 Walsall

Elizabeth Louisa onions dec quart 1903 Walsall. Joseph bates or William walker according to Freebmd.
Don't know whether church or registry office as the Walsall marriages don't give the church or reg office on staffordshirebmd. The church could be st George or st matts  in particular and St. Paul's but there are loads in Walsall.

It's not st George's. I want to go to Walsall archives if I get chance I'll look up st Matthews and St. Paul's but not sure when.
