Currently i researching the loss and fate of a Whitley bomber crashed 18th June 1941 after being shotdown by a German nightfighter. The aircraft in concern crashed on a farmland near Best in Holland. Four crewmembers where killed and one survived the crash but heavy wounded on both legs. He was made after treatment a POW.  One of the crewmembers not survived was Sgt Duncan Rodger Black who was the son of Duncan and Elizabeth Black of Greenock,Renfrewshire. I already send a message to the Renfrewshire Family History Society.

It was our plan to put an memorial at the actual crashsite but because of the COVID 19 virus we will planned this on the 18th June 2021. We would like that the families attending.

Regards, Adrian
