George Morris & Elizabeth Dawson
« on: Wednesday 11 December 13 08:24 GMT (UK) »
The above married in St Sidwell Parish 15 Oct 1838.
They were both living in Blackboy Road
George's father , John Morris is listed as a wheelwright.
Elizabeth's father, George Dawson is listed as an accountant
Witnesses were a John Squance & a John Hood or Flood.
They had a son , George Morris born in Oct 1837,some say he was an  adopted baby belonging to a friend who's wife had passed away. There is also not much of a resemblance to the rest of the children who came along later.
They came to South Australia in 1839.
Any help appreciated ,as I have no idea where any of these people where born.
Patricia :)

Hi

Do you have any idea of their ages/dates of birth?

There is an online tree which has George b. 1805, Exeter. Parents as John Morris and Mary Stickland.
Elizabeth born 1808, Exeter. Father- George Dawson, no mother given.

I think, maybe the dates of birth are taken from the tombstone~
Walkerville Cemetery
George - died April 11 1862, aged 57
Elizabeth - died Nov 27 1892, aged 84

Places of birth maybe taken from place of marriage  :-\

The only George that I can see around that date is bpt Stoke Damerel, Plymouth, 26 July 1806. Parents listed as John Row Morris and Mary. Born 5th Feb 1806
