Does  Railway House Kirkmichael still exist? Relatives lived there, I would love to see a picture if one exists.

it was still named thus in 2005 and noted as on Main Road (Kk Michael) - postcode IM6 1AD which is same small area as the now closed IoM Bank on corner of Main road and Station Road - could be the one time Railway Hotel which was bought up by a strong temperance Methodist and closed down as a pub around WW1 - I have a small photo c.1910 see
www.manxnotebook.com/mxman/v10p058.htm - in adverts at end of page taken before the IoM Bank was built
any thing with a Manx Connection

Hi
I have rent records for The Railway Cafe, let to Mrs McQuillan 1942 at 16 shillings per week, with tenant paying the rates. In 1946 the rent increased to £12 10s per quarter (£50 per year), in 1949 to £60 per year. The ledger finishes Feb 1953 with the same lady still the tenant. This is the same building  previously operating as The Railway Hotel.
