Bauville, Keeloges and Clonglash, Buncrana
« on: Wednesday 01 January 14 12:04 GMT (UK) »
Bauville, Keeloges and Clonglash is a townland in the Parish of Fahan Lower, in Inishowen, Co. Donegal and it is where I was born. It is bordered by the townlands of: Trillick; Tullydush Lower; Meenkeeragh; Druminderry; Cleenagh; Ballymagan and Clonblosk; and Aghilly and Lenynarnan.

The families of the townland are: Doherty Moor; McGee; Callaghan; Doherty Dubh; Bradley; Duffy; McLaughlin; Doherty Lenan; Barr; and McDaid.

All these families are interconnected as are families in the adjoining townlands.

In the other townlands these families include Blieu; Coyle; Dixon; Doherty Corney; Doherty Big Hill;  Doherty Meenkerragh; Doherty Ownes; Doherty The Kid; O’Donnell; Granny and Kearney.

I am in descent from two of the families of the townland and also of families in the adjoining town lands. I am interested in all the families and connected families. I am seeking to put together a full record of the families of the townland of Bauville, Keeloges and Clonglash and would be glad to hear from anyone connected.

Quinn (Donegal); McLaughlin, Doherty (Big Hill, Corney, Dubh, Lenan, Meenkeragh, Mor, Ownes, Roe, Druminderry.), Barr, Granny  (Buncrana);  Bonar (Convoy); McGlynn (Burnfoot); McFadden (St Johnston); Hamilton (Raphoe); Houston (Meenbane, Donegal); Eames (Kinlough, Leitrim); Murray and Henry (Westport, Mayo); Hasson (Derry); Eames (Leitrim); Farrell (Lanesboro) Scally (Gallagh, Roscommon); Casserly (Garranstown, Roscommon): Brennan and Hyland (Rathcline, Longford); Hopkins (Cashel, Longford

Hi,
If you go to the on-line Proni  Wills site and enter Keeloges and Clonlash you will see the basic detail of two Doherty and one Bradley wills.

I saw this post about the wills at the Proni site. I'm not familiar with the site and tried to find what you were referring to. I don't see where I can put in place names. I'm interested in seeing the Doherty and Bradley wills you are referring to. Could you maybe provide a link?

My family are the Bradleys from Meenamullaghan (Big Hill) which is often referred to as the Illies. I'm currently doing an analysis of the 7 households that are there in the 1901 census.

Hi,
If you enter the name of the townland where it says "FULL ABSTRACT" all the wills for that townland will come up. See http://applications.proni.gov.uk/DCAL_PRONI_WillsCalendar/WillsSearch.aspx

My Great grandmother was Winifred (Unity) Bradley who lived in Clonglash and died in 1951 at the age of 103 years. I remember her from when I was a youngster living in Derry and would visit Clonglash on a regular basis, first by train and later by bus. I think I must be one of a diminishing number who knew someone who was alive during the Famine.

Hi Rathmore,
I'm familiar with that particular site. I knew five of William and Unity's nine children. Mary Anne was my maternal grandmother.
By the way, my father was from Knocknagree, just up the road from Rathmore.

My late Grandma Maggie McGuinness (Nee Madden) was from townland Rathmore, Bundoran, they were flax seed growers for the linen industry.
