Which Family History Magazine do you read ?
« on: Friday 03 January 14 21:42 GMT (UK) »
I read just a few of the UK family History magazines and have my favourites which are for sale in the supermarkets and newsagents but wanted to have a look at what magazines are you reading in the US ??

As well as the magazines we also have publications from Local Family History societies that are posted monthly to members and contain more "local" information.

Would love to know what you are reading :)

Hi Sarah,

I only found 3 magazines (may have been more, found under "Hobbies " ) on Barnes and Noble on-line which may be an indicator:   FamilyTree,  Irish Roots and Wild West--- which may be a questionable source for FH.   Many of the mags on Cyndis List are publications by genealogical/historical societies around the country, museums, etc.  IMO, It is a very niche market and not easy to find at a news seller or a supermarket.

B and N (on-line) had about 1100+ books on FH in all formats including NOOK, by comparison.

that is surprising as the UK ones are available quite readily in large newsagents and supermarkets.

The Family Tree magazine looks very good, thank you :)

I agree with Murphy that they are not commonly seen in stores, aside from huge bookstores like Barnes & Noble.  I think I may have seen one in a local library, but I can't remember which one it was.
