Is there a way to reply directly to somebody's response on my post?
« on: Thursday 09 January 14 00:04 GMT (UK) »
Or do I have to quote their text?

Thank you,

Terri

Hi Terri - Welcome to Rootschat ;D

To reply to a post you just click on reply and type in the box - no need to quote. That will leave a post on the thread.

If you mean can you reply privately to someone specific - yes you can send a private message but only when you have made 3 posts on the forum (you currently only have 2)

I just pushed the 'reply' button for this one.

The 'quote' button is useful if you want to reply on a lengthy topic when you want to make reference to a comment that was several posts ago.

Hope this helps

And thank you too Dawn, that was a great help. I think I'm getting the hang of it now (or just showing off).
