The registration districts were based on the earlier Poor Law Unions (PLU)- just go to SeanRuad site,  and put in Ennis as PLU and you should get a list of townlands- (site down at the moment but just keep trying)

My inlaws were both registered in Ennis, (Co Clare) although my mother in law b 1917 was born about an hours drive from there in Kilbaha.

This is a fabulous website of all things to do with County Clare and it's county town of Ennis.

Many thanks for your replies.I can't name the lady concerned as her birth was given in the Ennis Registration District in 1923 and up to 2007 there is no death for her.She married my relative at Chester in 1951.

When did her spouse die? if before her- have you checked to see if she might have married again?
