Hi There

I just had a look and there are 15 Kathleen Murphys born between 1930 and 1934 in Cork if you look here you can see them https://familysearch.org/search/collection/results?count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3AKathleen%20%2Bsurname%3AMurphy%20%2Bbirth_place%3ACork%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1930-1934~&collection_id=1408347&birth_place2=8%2CIreland%2CCork

You could send off all of them but ask that they only send you ones with a fathers name of Michael and/or an address of 310 Blarney Street...

I had a look at the 1945 Guys and theres a M.Barry living in 310 Blarney Street then, theres also a birth with a mothers name of Barry so it may be her mothers maiden name..
This is the Guys record http://www.corkpastandpresent.ie/places/streetandtradedirectories/guyscorkdirectory1945_25feb/#/574/zoomed

Do you know of any siblings that she may have had?
O Riordan/Riordan / Dorgan/ Barry (Cork & Rathcooney)
O Sullivan & O Shea/Shea (Cork)
O Connell (Cork)
Walsh (Cork & Killarney)
Baldwin & Stanton, Sullivan, (Cork)
Lonergan (Cork, Tipperary, Limerick)
Deady ( Cork-Kanturk)

Hi I'm Kathleen's great grand daughter. We dont know much about kathleen only her father was michael Murphy. She married my great grandad Arthur smith on 17 march 1950 they resided in 310 blarney street for a while where they had a daughter called angela and a son called arthur before moving to Houghton le spring in Durham england. But we think her dad lived in 31 blarney street but not sure. We cant find anything anywhere. Tried to get in touch with the church for a mothers maiden name where they were married but apparently nothing.

Hi I clicked on the top link for the Kathleen's but it's just telling me no results found. We got in touch with the church they got married but they just said they found nothing. Apparently kathleen and arthur on resided in 310 blarney street for a short amount of time we THINK her dad or grandmother lived in 31 bit not 100 percent sure

Hi,

As Kathleen's father was Michael I looked for a marriage for him.
I went through 109 marriages in this site....
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/
This is the only marriage of a Michael Murphy living in Blarney Street. 4th one down.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1926/09133/5303127.pdf
I saw the Marriage of Kathleen and Arthur.
Then looked for Smith and mothers = Murphy
I saw the birth of Arthur Smith.
I can't see an Angela but did see a Kathleen.

House numbers....
In 1901 and 1911 Census house numbers were numbers of houses not an actual house door number.
There are 80 Murphy people in Blarney Street in 1911.
You will have a lot of digging to do on this.
There is a Michael Murphy in Blarney Street with his sister Julia O'Sullivan, I looked for her marriage to Denis and her father was named as John, same as the marriage listed above to Margaret Carroll.
2nd down.  It is Blaney St.
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1884/10905/5983395.pdf
The list of detailed dwellings is not listed otherwise you could pinpoint the actual house.
This is Julia's family in 1901 house number 225

http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Cork/Cork_Urban_No__4/Blarney_Street__part_of_/1105875/
This next link is the list, they were 5 doors down from a Stable.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/nai000517187/
If you use the above list for  Genealogy you should be able to pick up the B up to about 1919 D lost of years M up to 1944.
I hope this helps

Hi,
Yes, I will check, as I said it was the only one in Blarney Street, a bit more digging. I am not in Ancestry now, but it is easier to search in that site.
I really wanted to know if there was a Julia in the family. This would confirm a connection.
Siblings are a real help for searching. Do you know of any?
As you are a newbie, we all had to learn, so keep on asking and searching.
Kathleen instead of an Angela.
I had one like this, looking for a Bertie, could have been Herbert, no it was a James.
He had Bartholomew for his confirmation name and then he was know as Bertie.
www.familysearch.org
This site is a help, has births up to 1958.
Let me know about Julia please.
