There is a Middleton Road, Hayes. Have a look in the A to Z. There is also a lost London street site, but be carefull this is full of errors.
You could also try the locial studies library in the area, I have always found them very helpful.

I will try the Local Studies Library Linda.
I have been mulling over the U.S.A. theory [Middleton, Middlesex County, Mass] Nell. Flight of fantasy I think..... perhaps he was a mercenary [did they have them in the American Civil War] with the Seventh Cavalry or a navvy on the Pacific Railroad.......
How would a boy from the workhouse get to America and if he did get there why would he come back?
I think the Local Studies Library is my best bet....
I've had no luck with Littleton Common either.
